2023 Agape Love Medical Mission Report
The COVID-19 pandemic along with continued significant safety issues prevented taking
medical mission to Iree for three years; viz 2020 – 2022. Although Agape Love Mission
Foundation (ALMF) provided nutritional support in terms of non-perishable food items
to the people of Iree in the summer of 2022, there was a huge yearning to take a bold
step towards resuming the medical mission even amidst the dreadful safety concerns.
To the glory of God, the planning team prayerfully decided to resume the annual
medical mission trips starting from 2023.
The medical mission period was from October 8 (arrival) to October 13 (departure). We
were blessed with several volunteers including 12 Doctors, 6 Pharmacists, 5 Laboratory
Technicians, 10 Nurses, 4 Evangelists / Spiritual Counselors, 5 IT people and several
other volunteers from the Iree Progressive Association (IPA) and the Premier Club that
helped with ensuring that things were in place, and with meeting several logistics
requirements. In addition, the safety and crowd-control were managed by key leaders
from the IPA in partnership with the Amotekun team, the town’s local security team and
the Police team. The overall wellbeing of all volunteers in terms of accommodation and
nourishment was remarkably provided throughout the entire week.
As usual ALMF enjoyed tremendous support from non-profit organizations such as
FAME World, Dress-A-Girl, MAP International, the IPA, the Premier Club, ToyBeth
Systems that provided the TeleMedicine App (Iturah.health) which helped facilitate
registration and enabled instant Database creation during the mission, as well as all
ALMF partners – financial and spiritual.
Several people viewed the Jesus Film shown by a volunteer from CRU, Campus Crusade
for Christ during the mission. Overall, we cared for 1072 people during the 3-day
outreach. Indeed, we truly experienced God’s love for us as we attempted to extend
such love unto others.
